About the Piece
I created this piece as a release from negative comments and hardships from the past. This fish holds a special place in my heart because it represents the struggles we faced while growing up. When times were tough, my family and I relied on our own resourcefulness to provide for ourselves, and catching this fish was just one example of that. It reminds me of the strength and perseverance we possessed during those challenging times. “For what it is it was good,” the fish kept us alive! In contrast to the shady negative comment someone spoke about my work, “For what it is it is good.” The same phrase with two completely different meanings.
